add to favorites Researcher/Writer For Upcoming Products & Technology (Midtown)
Hello,
We are a NY based blog that brings new and interesting products to light. For example, have you ever heard of sleep boxes? Most people haven't, yet we have writers who research how this mini-hotel concept is going to be the next big thing at Airports. Our writers find out about the industry, about the companies offering the product, the experience of interacting with the product, etc. The writers then do a write-up of between 1000-3000 words, including any images, videos or illustrations they can find and submit it in word format.

We have many interesting products and technologies that we want articles on. We pay on a per article basis and have steady work. The writer is required to keep the writing simple for the average reader and yet interesting enough to get the reader excited about the product or technology. Simple.

If you feel like you can do at least 1 article a day and have the ability to grasp and churn out content that gets your heart thumping then send us the following:

Name, Contact Info., Writing Sample (of around 1000-2000 words), Reason for applying for this job, Number of articles you can do and what field interests you.

Work can be done from home and submitted via email. Payments will be settled same day as article approvals.

add to favorites Technical Writer (Educational Materials in Accounting) - Indianapolis, IN
We are seeking a technical writer (“Candidate”) to create and develop quality educational and training materials in accounting (e.g. online lectures, tutorials, brief explanations (i.e. Q&A), and multiple choice questions).

The Candidate will have:

1) Appropriate credentials: Accounting background (i.e. a degree in accountancy and/or accounting work experience), and Fluent English (especially, Good Written English).

2) Experience or skills in developing educational materials (preferred): The ability to explain complicated topics in clear and simple (easy) way.

3) Professional ethics: Candidate must be an original writer. Submitted material will be checked for plagiarism, which could be grounds for the termination of a business relationship. Candidate can use academic literature (e.g. textbooks, reference books, professional research databases) only as a starting point. Copying and pasting from such literature will not be accepted.

4) Professionalism: Candidate must complete and submit assigned projects in a timely manner, and Candidate should be highly accountable and reliable.

At the moment the projects include:

1) Accounting lectures: We are looking to have about 2-3 lectures written per month. Each lecture will be at least 7-8 web-pages. Topics will be assigned most of the time; however, Candidate can suggest or propose a topic he/she would like to write a lecture about. The level of complexity is introductory (principles).

2) Multiple choice questions (MCQs): We are looking to have about 40-50 MCQs written per month. We will provide the preferred MCQ format as well as the MCQ topics. Each MCQ must have 4 multiple choices. Both correct AND incorrect answers MUST be explained (i.e. ‘Answer A is incorrect because……’; ‘The incorrect answer was calculated as follows….’). Multiple choice questions must be different; for example, changing the name of a company or transaction amount does not constitute a “new” question.

3) Accounting Q&A: Q&As represent brief (0.5-2 web-pages long) explanations of a question. For example: What are the types of long-term debt? Topics for explanations will be assigned on as needed basis.

Pay:

The payment for projects will be negotiated with each Candidate and will vary depending on the type of educational material (lecture, MCQs, Q&A) and quality of material presented.

Any material submitted will be reviewed and be subject to changes. Any changes will be agreed upon with Candidate before publishing the material.

Payments can be made by check (USA bank), PayPal or Moneygram. Moneygram payments will need to accumulate to a certain level (e.g. $100) before a payment is made.

Contact:

If you are interested, please contact us through email. We will ask you to write 0.5-1 page long ‘lecture’ (Q&A) on an accounting topic and/or 1-2 MCQs.

We are looking forward to your proposals.

add to favorites Seeking Excellent Bloggers - Anywhere (USA)
Hello,

We're seeking bloggers for our business blog - we want to get it up and running asap with a lot of quality content. We run a web design training company.

We teach aspiring web designers/developers how to create websites with Flash, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Photoshop, Joomla, Wordpress, etc. We want our blog to be an extension of our business and cross promote our products - but we do NOT want to offer written tutorials (we sell video tutorials and we do not want anything to take away from that).

We're currently seeking writers for the following topics:

- Being a Freelance Web developer/designer (includes everything from dealing with clients to setting up your home office)
- Product and Industry News (includes news, rumors, events, etc. Topics might be Flash vs. Apple, Flash's future, HTML 5, CS5 news, the new Joomla, etc)
- Flash, PS, Dreamweaver, etc (conversational, this is what's new, design type of articles - no tutorials)
- Web development/design inspiration pieces (10 Amazing Flash sites, 20 Cool Photos Altered in Photoshop, etc - as well as articles on where and how to get inspiration, etc)
- We're open on the 5th topic - so... Surprise us...?

We've hired quite a few people and none of them worked out - so we're doing this a bit differently.

Send us an article on one of the above topics and if we use it we'll pay you $25 (article must be at least 350 words), plus if you become a regular writer you'll get paid more.

The articles must:
• have already been proofread, spell-checked, and grammar checked.
• be written for the web - use bullets, lists, quotes, etc and use key words. Keep the paragraphs short enough to easily be read and use simple language.
• be full of valuable information - we're looking for unique ideas, suggestions that are truly helpful, etc
• NOT be used anywhere else - if you don't hear that we're going to use your article within 90 days please feel free to submit it elsewhere
• be completely original content - we can not use plagiarized or "re-purposed" content

You must be able to send us an invoice for each article we accept and you must be willing (and able) to accept PayPal payments.

Once we accept and pay you for an article, we become the exclusive publisher of that article. This means you cannot publish the article anywhere else online, however, you can use an excerpt for your portfolio/personal website with a link to the full article on our site. This also means that we can publish your article on any of our sites or within our products.

Looking for a Freelance ...
Small web development firm in Toronto is looking to hire a freelance copywriter for an upcoming project. This position does not require you to come into an office, but you may be required to attend meetings, so being local to Toronto or it's surrounding areas is a must. We're looking for someone who has extensive experience in both writing copy for the web, and marketing-oriented creative writing. This is a larger corporate / social project that will require you to go through the motions of business exploration, working directly with the client to determine piece together the presentation, and working with the design staff in breaking the content down into organized and manageable chunks that will best sell the service. We ask that when applying, you provide portfolio work - preferably live websites that reflect what we've briefly explored above. If you've never worked on a project like this, feel free to apply for future work anyway, but make sure you indicate this in your email or it will likely be discarded. For each portfolio piece, discuss your involvement in the project, link to specific segments of your writer, and provide a brief overview the project process. We're looking for a minimum of 3 pieces, with a minimum of one recognizable brand that you've worked with. Be sure to include your rates and a detailed explanation of how they're applicable. Responding with an hourly rate, sans further explanation, is not useful and will therefore be discarded. Thank you for your responses,
