| Hi We are looking to develop a relationship with a classic asp developer, who knows css layout, javascript and seo. We do a lot of the "Front End" work in-house but need some help on some of the technical and backend issues that arise and special projects. We currently work with our original developer but their time is limted so we need some additional help. A couple qualifiers: 1. We want to work with (and pay) the developer directly. This is a one on one situation. No middle men, please. 2. You can work from home but I want to meet you in my office is SF so be located in the Bay Area. 3. Consistency is key. We need someone to dedicate 4-6 hours per week and report on progress on a weekly basis. 4. Your fees have to be reasonable. We're small. We can trade off steady work, though. If you are interested, please send me an introduction and let me know what you think of our website.. www.safetymax.com Thank you, SafetyMax Our website is www.safetymax.com | ||||

Our company focuses on working with entrepreneurs to help them improve their businesses and personal lives. This is a 10-15 hrs per week position, that will grow over time. This is a great position for someone who wants flexibility and variety. You need to be an “expert browser user” and know how to navigate the web and find information quickly. Google is your best friend. 4. Have used online web-based software applications. I use an online collaborative project management system. 5. You must be proficient and ideally, an expert at Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint). And you MUST have Microsoft & Excel on your home computer! No exceptions. 6. It can sometime appear things are chaotic due to the fact that there are many things going on at once. I and my manager are good at "dumping" lots of tasks on someone and have a "hands off" approach to management. You should be comfortable with working independently, but it’s absolutely necessary to ask questions if you are unclear on how to complete an assignment. We do have systems set up that need to be followed, so we all know what’s going on. Independent thinking is great – as long as you know your process will produce the requested outcome. Pay: $10 per hour to start. After a 90 day introductory period, if we mutually determine you are “the one” to go to the next level with our team, you will move up to $12 per hour. After 6 months, if you have successfully mastered all skills you’ve been taught and are able to successfully manage the areas of responsibility we’ve given you, then you will move to $15 per hour. | add to favorites | Editor Sought by Novelist (NYC) | IT,Web,Software | 40 | 0 |
| I received an undergrad degree in creative writing from one of the top UC universities, and have published short stories in respected print journals. I am currently working on a novel in the literary fiction genre, and seek editorial help during this process. My favorite writers include Virginia Woolf, the poet Octavio Paz, and Herman Melville. More recent favorites are Jonathan Franzen, Milan Kundera, and some of Salman Rushdie. Though I recognize that what I'm doing is ambitious, I'm willing to work hard, take notes seriously, and learn from those who can teach me. My criterion is that you have been paid to edit fiction in the past, or are a published novelist. I think that's fair, and my past editor had both qualifications, though one or the other will be fine. More general editorial experience will not suit me at this time, I'm afraid. Please paste your bio, credits, or resume in the body of your email, and I will get back to you if I think there's a fit. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you. | ||||

Publishing/Publicity ...
Untreed Reads (http://www.untreedreads.com), an innovative ebook publishing company, is seeking a tech-savvy assistant to help in promoting our titles online. We’ll write the copy, you’ll help us get the word out. Some basic HTML experience is necessary. Marketing mindset a plus. Experience working with ebooks is even better. And if you know EPUB, we’ll be thrilled. May need help with other tasks in the future if you’re qualified, interested, and we like working together. Details on current request below—along with possible future needs. This is a contract position for approximately 30 hours per month to start. Almost all of the work can be done from home, with intermittent in-person meetings.
First two needs listed below are most important. I’ll reply to those responses first, and the others a bit later. Please email us your experience and interest. Thank you!
CURRENT NEEDS
1. Publicizing New Releases
Once we create a blog post for a new release, it will need to be reposted on all of the sites where we do New Release info (currently about 20 sites). For the most part, this is simply cut-and-paste from the original document. However, sometimes something may need to be changed in the wording to be appropriate for where you're posting (i.e., mentioning on Kindleboards to use the links to help support Kindleboards). These need to go out within one or two days from release. The estimated time needed to post the publicity in all places is approximately 1–1.5 hours per title, and we are estimating approx. 20 titles per month. So, about 20–30 hours per month.
2. Marketing
Occasionally, our titles will receive reviews or our authors will be interviewed somewhere. It's necessary for us to post that to the blog, plus repost to all of the same places used when Publicizing New Releases. We are anticipating a time commitment of probably no more than 10 hours a month for this. We do run promotions occasionally, and those too will need to be marketed. Also will want help creating a presence on new sites we’re not on yet. We’ll identify those sites—and welcome your input/thoughts/suggestions also.
DOWN THE ROAD
3. Digital File Posting
Once digital files and information are created, it all has to be uploaded and posted to the sites where we have direct contracts. We would provide procedures for each of the sites we post to, but we need someone who is experienced and comfortable enough with technology to navigate through the different procedures. The estimated time needed to post a title in all retailers/distributors is approximately 1.5–2 hours per title. No special HTML skill is needed. Experience with EPUB preferred. These don't all happen at the same time, but are released over the course of 30 days. So one week may be heavier than another. Approx. 40 hours per month.
4. Sales Tracking and Royalty Statements
Sales figures from distributors and retailers are reported in a multitude of formats, accessed in different ways (mostly online), and are released at different times. Will want help tracking sales for internal accounting, as well as preparing royalty statements for authors. No bookkeeping experience necessary, but need to be extremely organized and detail oriented, with a comfort using Excel. Though not necessary, experience with QuickBooks Pro or QuickBooks is a big plus, and in the future will want someone to take over the bookkeeping aspects of the business.
Thank you!

Arizona Bloggers Needed
Hello! A CA-based marketing agency needs some help from bloggers for an online campaign. You must have access to a blog or other site to publish content on, and you must be a US-resident to be considered for this gig. Depending on your location, there are two projects currently available for you to write 250-word posts on. Pay is determined on your site's PageRank, traffic, quality of writing, indexing, and relevancy to each project. Average payment is $25-$70 per post, depending on aforementioned criteria. There have been three incidences when I've paid $90 for one blog post, so if you have a fantastic blog with amazing traffic, I have no problem rewarding you for writing professional, authentic content.
Projects will come in every few weeks, so once you get approved as a blogger, you'll receive an update every few weeks from me with a calling for writers. You always have a choice whether to accept a project or not and I reward on creativity, not a spam robot writer. Before payments, an NDA and 1099 document must be filled out. Payments are processed through PayPal on Tuesdays and Fridays.
For consideration, please email the URL to your blog and the state where you currently reside. There is no need for resumes, as your blog will suffice as insight to your writing skills. Generic cover letters emailed will not be looked at, so please send in a genuine message that shows your genuine interest.

Seeking a Ruby on Rails ...
I'm currently seeking out another Ruby on Rails developer
to partner up with and tackle some larger client projects.
The ideal person would be passionate about building RoR web applications and
have some experience under their belt.
Currently I'm work with:
Rails 3
Rspec
Cucumber
Git
I have a VPS rails server for testing applications on the web
and a private git repo service via (codebasehq.com) to store code.
We would work completely remotely using collaboration tools available (skype, mind42, mockingbird etc.)
unless for the odd chance that you live close to me (I live about 2 hours north of Toronto Ontario).
We would be doing BDD using Rspec for Unit testing and Cucumber for
integration testing as well as communication/acceptance-tests with clients.
I used to run a small freelance web design/development company doing everything "web design"
but have phased off clients that were not RoR or web application specific in order
to focus on what I love. Trying to do everything under the umbrella term "web development" gets
old fast... really fast!
I would like to build a brand around our work and focus on really delivering
quality, well tested software.
If you are interested or have any questions
you can contact me here:
at kirkvq [at] gmail.com
or Twitter @ kirkvq
Cheers
~kirk
