add to favorites Graphic Artist/Blog Theme Designer
I'm looking for a designer to help me out with creating a series of themes for a popular blogging/website platform (NOT Wordpress). These themes will be designed to meet specific needs - designs specifically made for restaurants, real estate agents, etc.

What I'm NOT looking for: Someone who just draws straight lines, throws in some gradients, and calls it a day.

What I AM looking for: A true artist who can pull in rich graphics where necessary to create a masterpiece around a specific theme that is still flexible enough for a wide variety of uses.

Involved are plenty of variables, limitations, and use cases. The person I'm looking for will know how to use these to their advantage. If you're up for the challenge, shoot me an email.

This is a design role only - no coding involved. However, you should know the limitations of current browsers, while still designing to take advantage of CSS3.

add to favorites Editor for Website Content
I'm looking for someone to read and edit articles about broadband and other technology related subjects.

I would like to start out by having 3 articles edited.

If that works out well for both of us, I expect to send you 15 articles/month for editing.

About the articles and the writer
My writer knows a lot about technology, but sometimes has trouble making articles easy to understand for "normal people". In addition English isn't his native language, and as a result there tend to be a couple of sentences in each article that is just a little bit "off".

Samples of what you will be doing

* Add a 1-3 sentence introduction to the article.
* Rewrite 2-5 sentences in each article.
* Rewrite the headline.
* Provide limited feedback to the writer (3-5 sentences for every 5 articles).

Skills required

* Very good written English
* Basic copywriting skills

What I will provide you with
I will send you a sample of an original article and show you what I would expect you to do with it, so you can see what it is currently being done. I don't expect you to do things exactly like I do, but assume that it will make things easier for you if you know where I'm coming from.

I will of course also send you the articles that you will be editing :-)

add to favorites Publishing/Publicity Assistant
Untreed Reads (http://www.untreedreads.com), an innovative ebook publishing company, is seeking a tech-savvy assistant to help in promoting our titles online. We’ll write the copy, you’ll help us get the word out. Some basic HTML experience is necessary. Marketing mindset a plus. Experience working with ebooks is even better. And if you know EPUB, we’ll be thrilled. May need help with other tasks in the future if you’re qualified, interested, and we like working together. Details on current request below—along with possible future needs. This is a contract position for approximately 30 hours per month to start. Almost all of the work can be done from home, with intermittent in-person meetings.

First two needs listed below are most important. I’ll reply to those responses first, and the others a bit later. Please email us your experience and interest. Thank you!

CURRENT NEEDS
1. Publicizing New Releases
Once we create a blog post for a new release, it will need to be reposted on all of the sites where we do New Release info (currently about 20 sites). For the most part, this is simply cut-and-paste from the original document. However, sometimes something may need to be changed in the wording to be appropriate for where you're posting (i.e., mentioning on Kindleboards to use the links to help support Kindleboards). These need to go out within one or two days from release. The estimated time needed to post the publicity in all places is approximately 1–1.5 hours per title, and we are estimating approx. 20 titles per month. So, about 20–30 hours per month.

2. Marketing
Occasionally, our titles will receive reviews or our authors will be interviewed somewhere. It's necessary for us to post that to the blog, plus repost to all of the same places used when Publicizing New Releases. We are anticipating a time commitment of probably no more than 10 hours a month for this. We do run promotions occasionally, and those too will need to be marketed. Also will want help creating a presence on new sites we’re not on yet. We’ll identify those sites—and welcome your input/thoughts/suggestions also.

DOWN THE ROAD
3. Digital File Posting
Once digital files and information are created, it all has to be uploaded and posted to the sites where we have direct contracts. We would provide procedures for each of the sites we post to, but we need someone who is experienced and comfortable enough with technology to navigate through the different procedures. The estimated time needed to post a title in all retailers/distributors is approximately 1.5–2 hours per title. No special HTML skill is needed. Experience with EPUB preferred. These don't all happen at the same time, but are released over the course of 30 days. So one week may be heavier than another. Approx. 40 hours per month.

4. Sales Tracking and Royalty Statements
Sales figures from distributors and retailers are reported in a multitude of formats, accessed in different ways (mostly online), and are released at different times. Will want help tracking sales for internal accounting, as well as preparing royalty statements for authors. No bookkeeping experience necessary, but need to be extremely organized and detail oriented, with a comfort using Excel. Though not necessary, experience with QuickBooks Pro or QuickBooks is a big plus, and in the future will want someone to take over the bookkeeping aspects of the business.

Thank you!

First and foremost though, working here requires more than technical skills because you must also be a conceptual thinker who can generate creative ideas.
