Web Development contract to fully develop a new website for Twinbro’s Local Leaders a Vancouver based not for profit organization. We have a professional designer already working on the project and need someone who can utilize her designs to code up our new website. Twinbro’s mission is to inspire youth to be confident individuals who see the value of post-secondary education and believe in their ability to attain it. Twinbro supports student success and personal development by connecting youth with relatable role models and informative resources. Our organization has spoken directly to over 20,000 youths and are growing quickly. You will work closely with us and our graphic designer to create the functionality that we require including: 1. A paid members only section 2. An application database with a cms that allows us to add future applications as we grow. 3. A members data base 4. ability to integrate our blog feed into our front page 5. A flash carousel on the front page that we can load 5-7 pages on 6. A testimonial database that feeds to the front page 7. Integration with our eventbrite page 8. An integrated online store that include integration of a createspace store (from amazon) We don't mind which CMS you utilize (drupal, wordpress, joomla etc... but the site needs to be built so that we can easily log in and add new content to specific sections. Qualifications include the following: Excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript and PHP. Experience with Apache, HTTP, XML, and MySQL. Excellent collaborative, interpersonal, communication and team interaction skills. Experience programming scalable web applications. Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Objective Subject is looking for a fun, interesting, and talented, ideally full-time, user interface-focused design intern to complement its team and contribute to the design and production process of several interesting device user interface and website projects. The ideal candidate is a soon-t0-be or recent graduate, who wants working experience designing and implementing touch-screen interfaces. We are looking for somebody who: * Loves to create the most clean and pixel-perfect icons and buttons while helping solve complex interaction problems; * Knows Adobe Creative Suite inside and out and always teaches classmates and professors key commands. * Imagines how an application’s menus, buttons, palettes, and toolbars could be done better; * Downloads multiple iPhone apps that do the same thing to find the best, understands why Facebook keeps changing the homepage, and notices how even Apple doesn't have perfect UI consistency (at least they try); * Likes to use his or her hands, but above all his or her mind; * Has a strong interest in Interface Design as it applies to both devices and websites; * Likes to work in a beautiful office with other nice designers; * Does not like to go pick up coffee, but likes to drink it; * Is still enrolled as a graphic design / visual communication student or a recent grad, looking to pick up more experience on some fun jobs; * Does not like to work for free; * Has good availability in the coming month (we will be flexible with timing - could be part-time); * Can come to work work in our DUMBO office in Brooklyn (no tele-commuting). * Is ready to start soon.
