Looking for a website programmer to take an existing website to the next level! Must be proficient in Drupel and PHP or if able to produce a better result with a different platform. Must be highly intelligent and dedicated to the work from start to finish, students or graduates welcome.
You have to be able to understand my vision and what I want done. I want the workflow to be streamlined, efficient, clear and intuitive! You have to be excellent with your abilities to program and to use Drupel and PHP. There will be a contract for work required and time for completion.
The current website is bases on Drupel and PHP. Some of the front end look will need some changes and the back end look needs some better work flow, visual clarity, and more work being done by the website. The website needs to tie into the server (windows 2008) more for saving job files into specific folders and outlook calendar link for individual employees. Of course, the files will be sent with excellent detail that will help you determine how to create the functionality that we are asking for.
We have no problem saying that templates are the way to go. But, we want you to use the vanilla template that you know in and out. Not tear apart an existing theme from someone else and try to figure out how it works. Waste of talent.
We'd also like help maintaining and updating the existing website and structure for Louve Notes Media Group and our clients as needed.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. The political social networking website is based on PHP and the Symfony framework, data output to be supplied in XML; the globe should be able to read and display such data.
2. Either preexisting Flash globes may be used or a globe may be created from scratch. Here are some examples of globes that we’ve looked at:

4. We’ll want to customize the globe markers (at the very least the colors) depending on various inputs (user’s home country, gender, etc.)
5. The globe must update at regular intervals without a browser refresh. One second intervals would be ideal, depending on server and browser overhead.
6. The globe should be able to work with latitude/longitude coordinates.
7. Ideally, a Javascript will be used to detect the presence of Flash and show the globe when possible, with a 2-D alternative if not possible. Please note that Google Maps is not a valid option for the 2-D alternative since they are highly active in the political scene and we require a product that is politically neutral.
This is an optional request, however. The globe is the major component.

ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW:
The California Foundation for Independent Living Centers, Inc. (CFILC) is a non-profit membership organization representing 24 of California's community-based, peer-operated Independent Living Centers. CFILC and its members advocate and act to remove barriers to independence for Californians with disabilities.
SCOPE OF WORK:
The purpose of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to secure a Contractor to provide web development services on assigned CFILC projects for a 6-9 month term with a possible term extension. Report to and assist CFILC's Web Developer in front-end development of multiple websites. Contractor will work remotely approximately 10-15 hours per week based on project assignments. Assignments will be paid on an hourly basis with a per project cap on hourly charges.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Expert in properly hand-coding HTML & CSS in an organized fashion;
Familiar with HTML5 and CSS3 implementation;
Resolve cross-browser issues between platforms;
Use Photoshop to process graphics for web images;
Knowledge and implementation of PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, FTP and AJAX;
Have your own computer with the necessary software.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge of web accessibility guidelines (W3C.org/Web Accessibility Initiative) and Section 508 standards;

SELECTION CRITERIA:
The CFILC Management Team will make the selection of the winning Contractor based on the following criteria:
Written evidence of the Contractor's experience providing web development services and ability to meet minimum and desired qualifications;
Quality of example websites;
Proposed hourly rate for services;
Confirmation of references.
SELECTION PROCESS:
This request for qualifications is not a commitment to contract for services. CFILC reserves the right to reject any and all responses without cause. A Contractor will be selected on the basis of our review of the information provided in the proposals, contacts with references, costs, as well as other budgetary and time considerations.
PROPOSAL SUBMITTAL AND TIMELINE:
CFILC will accept emailed responses to the Request for Proposal until Wednesday, January 25. Responses received after that time and date will not be considered. The expected contract award date is Wednesday, January 18. Final award of the contract is based on the availability of funds.
