Looking for a LOCAL bay area Web developer who is competent in creating pages/site under Magento Commerce platform, and can do work for reasonable cost/time/efficiency to set up our e-commerce system. This is a contract position. Should take approximately 2 to 3 weeks. Contract to perm with future stock options. This position will be a work-for-hire agreement to the experienced Magento Commerce developer. The project involves the complete and advanced development on the Magento e-commerce platform while working in our team to implement various ranges of complexity of site features of an equipment rescue and safety super-store website. The candidate must have a solid background in Web development with a wide range of talents and a proven ability to develop innovative technical solutions that we deem will help separate us from our competition. This position is ideal for an experienced Magento developer that can play a central role in the technical implementation of the project while working closely with all internal teams including Creative Design, Account and Project Management, and Systems Administration. The candidate has the potential of being our go-to resource for continued marketing efforts with site updates, email blasts, and branded mini sites at the conclusion of the work-for-hire project based upon mutual agreement. Responsibilities The ideal candidate will be required to perform the following tasks: • Build, develop and support a website based on the Magento e-commerce platform using XHTML, CSS, PHP and MySQL • Ability to work with standard Magento features such as multiple stores and authentication • Integrate approved creative designs into Magento from HTML templates • Integrate the website through an Application Programming Interface (API) • Integrate the website with Payment Gateways for testing and troubleshooting • Integrate the website with shipping providers such as Fedex, UPS, USPS and DHL • Integrate the website with dynamic product and inventory management through Magento Web Services • Execute continuous optimization of all areas of the website to improve both the consumer and administration user experience • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to meet all requirements of the project • Provide creative technical solutions to allow project to stay within scope, time and budget • Cross-browser testing and implementation Must-Have Qualifications The ideal candidate must exhibit the following mandatory qualifications: • Advanced experience developing with the Magento e-commerce platform • Bachelors / Masters Degree or equivalent • Expert in PHP for customizing look-and-feel • Experience with MySQL database design and administration • Experience with XML / SOAP / WDSL • Experience with Subversion, CVS or a similar source code control system • Knowledge of current HTML / CSS / XHTML standards • Knowledge of JavaScript / AJAX technologies and methods Love-to-Have Qualifications The ideal candidate will also possess the following strongly preferred qualifications: • A strong passion for computer programming • Enthusiasm and a great sense of humor • Knowledge of current web trends and resources • Suitable planning, organizational and problem solving skills • Suitable written and verbal communication skills • Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills • Experience working with Photoshop to help instruct the chops/cutup into XHTML/CSS a plus • Knowledge of Flash / ActionScript with XML a plus Send resume and summary of your background with sites you've developed.
